Viviana Valverde, born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, discovers her real vocation
at the tender age of 5, when her aunt and renowned painter Alba Calderon sees her potential in her drawings.
Viviana then starts taking painting lessons and very soon she wins her first award in a drawing contest about
the environment.
After two years of architectural studies in the Catholic University of
Guayaquil, Viviana makes the decision to move to the United States. There, Viviana
discovers and falls in love with the art of Graphic Design.
While in college, she wins two design contests; one for the 1998 National Junior Olympics and for the 55th Support Squadron, United States Air Force. In 1999, Viviana graduates with honors (Phi Theta Kappa) in Visual Communication Arts in Omaha, Nebraska.
After the birth of her second child, she discovers a new creative talent
and starts designing a baby bib. This idea becomes her passion and, soon
after, finds herself taking sewing classes. With the help of a
talented team of pattern makers who have worked with top of the line
designers such as Esteban Cortazar and Vera Wang, Viviana designed her
first collection for Spring 2006 and the brand named Lucci Baby was born.
Her collections can be described as smart casual, modern classic pieces,
that can be worn to the park or to a summer wedding. All garments are
made with one of the most beautiful cottons in the world, the Peruvian
Pima Cotton, creating an exceptional quality.
Today, Viviana lives in Miami with her husband Jose and their two sons Jose Daniel and Luis Antonio.
For Spring 2008, Lucci Baby is proud to offer exclusive hand-printed fabrics that will surely delight our customers. |
